Music always has been inspiration and influence for Jürgen Augsbach with a passion for electronic sounds. In the 90s, Augsbach met Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider from Kraftwerk, planned joint projects with Robert Görl from DAF. To discuss the work on AFvision , Augsbach met audio-visual artist Emil Schult in Düsseldorf. Schult designed record covers for Kraftwerk (e.g. Autobahn ) and was co-author of numerous Kraftwerk songs. NEXT
About the colour intensive, energetic style of his work, Augsbach says: "Appealing to me is a clear, catchy, iconic and intense style. I like the technique of serialization as a worthwile concept also fitting with nowadays perception". If artwork conveys a message, Augsbach prefers it subtle and irritating, "not lecturing or moralizing, not humorless or boring and not in need of someone to explain". NEXT
While studying computer science, Augsbach met former Rheingold member Lothar Manteuffel, who co-founded music project Elektric Music together with Karl Bartos, who had left Kraftwerk to focus on his own projects. Augsbach was awarded the contract to provide computer graphics for the stage show of Elektric Music's European tour. After several performances, however, the tour didn't take place due to internal conflicts. NEXT
